About Scott Phelan

Scott Phelan is a dedicated community leader, business executive, and long-time advocate for families and local businesses in Kanata–Carleton. With a strong track record of leadership in both the public and private sectors, Scott is committed to delivering real results for his community.

As a Trustee with the Ottawa Catholic School Board, Scott has worked tirelessly to ensure students receive high-quality education while advocating for parental and fiscal responsibility. His leadership in the school board has allowed him to engage directly with families, educators, senior leadership, and policymakers to enhance educational outcomes to support the board’s 50,000 student population. Scott also has extensive experience working with the Province of Ontario to advocate on behalf of families and secure future growth. Most recently, he advocated for and helped secure over $100 million in funding to open two new schools and support two expansions to meet the educational growth demands in Kanata-Carleton.

In the private sector, Scott has over 25 years of experience in the Information Technology sector, working across industries such as print & imaging, defence & security contracting, sports & entertainment, and data analytics. His experience in business development and government relations has provided him with valuable insight into how effective policies can drive innovation, economic growth, and job creation.

Scott is no stranger to community service. He has been actively involved in local organizations, including Parent Councils, the Business Associations, and the Kanata & Stittsville Minor Hockey Association(s), where he previously served as President of SMHA. His commitment to youth sports and local initiatives demonstrates his passion for building a strong, connected community. Recently, Scott served on the board to help spearhead the launch of the Stittsville Sports Hall of Fame to recognize local athletes and contributors.

With a deep commitment to both rural & urban communities, enhancing our technology sector, and supporting small businesses, Scott is running for the Ontario PC’s in Kanata–Carleton to bring his experience, leadership, and strong work ethic to Queen’s Park. His campaign is focused on standing up for families, protecting Ontario against recent tariff threats, improving our healthcare system, cutting red tape for businesses, and ensuring the riding has a strong voice in government. Scott knows that our riding has many concerns that need to be addressed and looks forward to connecting with local residents during the campaign.

Scott and his wife of 21 years, Elizabeth, are proud parents to four children.
